 | | Chief Economist of Bank of China | | Cao Yuanzheng, male, was born on June 21, 1954. He is a PhD in economics, a research analyst and enjoys special government allowance. He’s now the chief economist of Bank of China (BOC). He worked with National Commission for Structural Economic Reform and conducted policy-setting and theoretical research on the structural reform of Chinese economy and micro economy. In late 1990s, he joined Bank of China International Holdings Limited, and carries out the measures of economic reform. He presided over the restructure and IPO of large State owned Enterprises such as BOCHK, BOC, China CITIC Bank, industrial Bank CO., Ltd, Ping An Insurance, CNOOC, CCGRP and Xinhua Winshare. He is a Doctorial tutor for People’s University of China, adjunct professor for Peking University, Qinghua University and Fudan University. He is also Vice President of China Society of Microeconomics. He was an expert with the United Nations Development Program, Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank and consulted for countries in transition, among them Vietnam, Mongolia, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan，Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. He’s now consultant for a number of provincial government on economic issues. |
